Aubrey Garrison, AIA, is the founding principal of LIVE Design Group, has over 40 years of professional experience in architecture and design in the public and private sectors. Aubrey serves to help discover and develop the vision of the client by utilizing the experience of hundreds of projects with countless personalities and nuances.

Aubrey’s love for architecture and people is evident in everything he does. From teaching those around him about this timeless industry, to being a student of the people and culture around him, this approach and attitude is what makes our firm a true learning environment.

This has been demonstrated with projects like Birmingham Southern College’s Stephens Science Center, the Church of the Highlands, BSC Norton Campus Center, and UAB’s Blazer Hall – Freshman Residence Hall where he directed the project until the design goals had been achieved.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Craig moved to Atlanta, then onto Auburn University where he began studying architecture. After graduating, he returned to Atlanta to begin working on a wide range of project types. Craig followed a girl and moved to New York City where they later became engaged before moving to her hometown of Birmingham, AL. While in NYC, he experienced a diverse client and office culture, designing projects including historic renovations, adaptive reuse, and multi-family residential. He has spent the past ten years working with his father in law on a wide scope of project types, but has developed a specialty in designing worship centers, fine arts centers, and gymnasiums. Craig’s childhood love for building ballparks out of Legos has re-surfaced in the building types on which he likes to work; and his skill for 3D visualization and Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology serves our clients very well.

When he is not designing worship centers or auditoriums, you’ll find him playing make-believe with his three daughters, reorganizing his music collection, editing a short film of the last birthday party or ballet recital, or off somewhere reading a good software manual.

A native of Birmingham, Jeff’s interest in the built environment came early from his summers spent working for General Contractors. After graduating from Auburn University with dual degrees in Architecture and Building Science, he soon found his strength in how design developed into something buildable. His knowledge and dedication to sound architectural and construction practices and the coordination between the two, has insured successful completion of many projects throughout his career.

A graduate of Auburn University, Dan brings initiative along with his graphics and computer design skills to our team. He quickly became LEED certified and a project manager within just a few years of graduation. Dan has managed a variety of complex commercial projects. He has also worked on custom residences, residential renovations, educational facilities and commercial spaces. An avid photographer with a passion for travel, Dan has traveled around the world, visiting over fifty countries. These days Dan’s commute is much shorter and he can be found biking to and from the LIVE design studio.

A native of Birmingham, Jessica officially joined LIVE Design Group after graduating from Auburn University in the spring of 2008. Her travels abroad and across the US have fostered a great appreciation for historical structures and regional design context.

After interning with another local firm in the summer of 2007, Jessica began her 5th year thesis at Auburn University’s Center for Architecture and Urban Studies in downtown Birmingham, which incorporates urban planning and work experience with the local design community. By luck of the draw, she completed her thesis work study at Live Design Group.
Jessica decided to build her career here because of her desire to contribute to the revitalization of downtown Birmingham. She seeks to incorporate her LEED accreditation into our industry’s latest technology while continually gaining more knowledge to reach her goal of licensure.

Meg has been a member of the LIVE Design Group on and off since high school when she was the firm runner and in college as an intern. Originally from Birmingham, Meg attended Auburn University and moved to New York upon graduation where she worked for Clodagh Design International and Bruce Bierman Designs. After getting engaged (see Craig’s bio), she moved back to Birmingham in 2000 and began her third stint at LIVE Design Group. Meg now works part time in our interior design department and full time at home as the mother & chauffer to three busy daughters.

Adding a new dimension of interior design experience to the group, Meg has experience in space planning, mixed-use developments, and design concepts that include green design. Meg has a gifted eye for creative and unique ability to bring about the look and feel that communicates the fabric of each project’s vision, providing the finishing touch necessary to complete a design.

Terra is engaged throughout the design process and makes it her mission to create unique and custom solutions for every client. She brings a passion and excitement for interior design that translates from the vision of the client to the physical elements of design.

Tate brings a genuine passion for community involvement and city revitalization. With a diverse background in advertising and communications, her graphic design and computer skills, combined with her love for architecture and design are fundamental to our firm’s marketing and graphic design needs. Tate has also been involved with several large projects, working closely with clients to discover branding and identity solutions that provide a more complete picture of who they are with what is being built. Tate serves as a leader on the boards of several organizations around the city works hard, adding value to the local community.

Whitney was born and raised in Dothan, Alabama (the peanut capital of the world). She attended Auburn University and graduated in 2005 with a degree in architecture. After two summer internships at the LIVE Design Group, she was hired permanently upon graduation. Whitney has a fear of flying, but is married to an airline pilot. She enjoys photography, is currently pursuing a mastery of bokeh, and enjoys spending her time at Lake Martin and the beach with her husband and daughter.

Whitney enjoys exploring alternative ways to accomplish a design goal instead of conventional methods alone. She brings new concepts and excitement to the studio while soaking up the knowledge that more experienced members of the firm have to offer. Her ability to effectively communicate and identify with clients and translate their goals into design is an amazing asset, believing that a project’s success hinges on making the client’s goals the number one priority.
