What Can You Do to Get Ready for The New Normal?
In this period of COVID-19 quarantine, many of us are working on home improvement projects. This is a great time to think about your facilities while welcoming the new faces you are meeting on-line as they will become first time visitors when the doors open back up. Your Grand Re-Opening will be a long awaited, much anticipated event.
We thought we would share some of the most requested items from recent churches we have worked with. Every congregation is different. Today’s churches want to create an environment that tells their story and is uniquely them. For example, we recently worked with a church strongly devoted to international missions. They asked that each wing of their facility be themed after the countries they serve.
Every church feels strongly about coffee. Some are looking for a full-service coffee bar that can serve as both a community outreach center or a transitional small group gathering space. Several churches have extended café service to include offering a light breakfast, providing fundraising opportunities for missions, as well as fostering more social engagement.
We live in a culture where everyone is eager to share their experiences. Continuing the idea of social engagement, one church requested the design for their new facility be a fully Instagrammable space. What a great idea – creating an environment so inviting that your guests and members can’t wait to share it!
Great Volunteer Space
Every great ministry has great volunteers and many churches have come to us requesting space that caters to their volunteers. Not only are they looking for dedicated space for volunteers to meet, leave belongings, grab a snack, and rest in between services, many are looking to create special “bonus “ kid spaces – super fun places for kids who are on campus for multiple services. From basketball goals and ping pong tables to rock climbing walls, ministries are looking to honor those families who give so much of their time by providing entertaining space for their kids, while the adults serve.
With worship services currently moving on-line, your ministry is poised to reach so many new people throughout this season of social distancing. Many of these people connecting with you on-line will become first-time visitors when your doors open back up. This period is a great opportunity for growth and improvement.
We would love to hear from you! What are some things you’d love to improve? Check back with us every week for more “Most Requested” and inspiration for your Grand Re-Opening.
